Sho Madjozi is back with another hit single titled Huku. The Xitsonga princess, poet and musician, born to a Tsonga mom and a white father; Sho Madjozi has finally released the official music video for her new single, Huku.

Maya Wegerif, known to her fans as Sho Madjozi, hails from Elim in Limpopo but now based in Jozi and is a breath of fresh air to the music industry while she swells with pride, singing in Tsonga and Swahili. She is a young woman who takes pride in her culture and identity; she’s famous for her unique music, a Rapper in her own language Xitsonga.

Sho Madjozi has released successful singles including the chart toping Dumi hi phone before. Many would recognize her as Tsakani on popular Mzansi Magic DSTV’s Isithembiso.

After teasing fans for weeks, the visuals are finally out and they are everything we would expect from Sho Madjozi who can also speak and rap in Swahili fluently.

The video features IT Boy and Smash Afrika as the lead male character who serves chest hair realness throughout the video. It tells the real-life tale of a guy, played by Smash, who fell in love with our beloved Sho Madjozi, but just didn’t have the guts to let a sister know.

The word Huku is a Swahili word, meaning ‘here’; and this is already causing confusion within the Tsonga Tribe because Huku is known to be a chicken in their language. Sho Madjozi is yet to let us know exactly what the lyrics of the song say.
