The Durban born Gqom Music heavyweights Distruction Boyz’ album titled Gqom is the future has been officially certified Platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA). The pair recently shared this major achievement while preparing to drop their follow-up album on the 26th October 2018.
Distruction Boyz consists of recording artists and record producers Thobani “Que” Mgobhozi and Zipho “Goldmax” Mthembu. Their Debut album Gqom Is the Future took Mzansi by storm and it is the first Gqom album to ever achieve this status. Gqom Is The Future practically changed the game because it was packed full of hits that kept Mzansi dancing throughout the entire festive season last year.
Distruction Boyz released their breakout single titled “Omunye” which features Benny Maverick and Dladla Mshunqisi. Although it will take some doing, the Gqom duo are looking to do it all over again with their sophomore album that is just around the corner.
Fans were pleased to learn they do not have much longer to wait before they get their hands on the duo’s new project which promises to be just as good as their first. The duo’s new offering will have exciting features including DJ Tira, Dladla Mshunqisi, and DJ Target no Ndile.
