Mkhululi Siqula, known to his fans as Heavy K; he was born and bred in Veeplaas in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape and attended Mzimhlophe Public Primary School, Emfundweni Primary School and later went to Ndzondelelo Secondary School.

Heavy K is no stranger to making hit after hit, and although he can’t pinpoint his winning formula, he knows he was born to create beats. The Dj says the “K” on his stage name comes from his childhood nickname “Khusta”. Heavy K is ecstatic about 2018 as he will drop what he calls the biggest album of his career – “Respect the Drumboss 2018”.

“Respect the Drumboss 2018” will be featuring the likes of Sean Paul, Davido, Bucie, Nokwazi, Mpumi and many more surprises. I want to do more international shows, as I did last year. My sound in Africa and Europe is becoming a monster, so I’m definitely travelling all over the globe,” he says.

Fresh from the “iNDE” hit, he has just released another banging track titled “Siphum’ eLokshini”featuring Mondli Ngcobo. “iNDE”, featuring Bucie and Nokwazi, had many parties rocking this festive season; and Heavy K says he could feel deep within his soul that the track would take off in a big way.

The “iNDE” hitmaker Mkhululi Siqula has revealed the great news that he will be dropping a new album later this year. He has proven too many times with hit bangers such as “Wena”, “Umoya”, “Celebration” and “Yini” to mention the least that his musical skills aren’t to be taken for granted the way they’re genuine.

Heavy K said he doesn’t allow the pressure of releasing hits to dictate his way of working on his music. He said he rather gives every song the necessary attention it requires. “When I go to the studio, I give it my all. I know I am special because over the years, my brand has become associated with hits. When I make songs, people already expect a hit song with a message. It means a lot to me that I don’t have to create “bubblegum” or music that is too commercial to be celebrated. I’m very humbled by the love that my songs have received,” He added.

Fans can be on the lookout for his upcoming offering because looking at his previous work; it’s possible that he’ll drop a smashing hot album that’ll include two of his past hits “iNDE” & “Sphum’ elokshini”.
