Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards nomination process now open

The Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards are the only South African music awards that not only grooms young and upcoming musicians in the music industry; but also allow them to get nominated with legends and possibly get recognised by winning the coveted MKHMA award.

The nomination process for the 3rd annual Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards officially opened on the 1st of May 2018 and will stay open until the 30th July 2018. Entries are open to any and all South African Kwaito/ Gqom and House artists who have been in the SA for a minimum of six (6) months. Radio personalities and pantsula dancers also qualify to enter the 2018 edition of the awards.

The categories for this year include but not limited to the Lifetime Achievement Award which was previously awarded to DJ Ganyani and Mandla “Spikiri” Mofokeng. The Awards have grown big this year – 2018, they have added new category such as best Gqom artist.

Entries for nomination and competition rules can be downloaded on the website www.mzansikwaitohousema.co.za and can be posted to Sun City or sent to Soweto Hotel in Kliptown for those who reside in and around Soweto.

Nominees will be announced on the 3rd of August at Soweto Theatre and the main event will be hosted on the 24th of November at the Top Arena in Carnival City, East Rand.
