Sho Madjozi recorded a song with Chris Martin

Maya Wegerif, known to her fans as Sho Madjozi, born to a Tsonga mom and a white father. She hails from Elim in Limpopo but now based in Jozi and is a breath of fresh air to the music industry while she swells with pride, singing in Tsonga. She is a young woman who takes pride in her culture and identity; she’s famous for her unique music, a Rapper in her own language Xitsonga.

Sho Madjozi is one of South Africa’s most loved musicians, although the media personality has been in the entertainment industry for less than 5 years, she has managed to make a name for herself in a short period of time.




Before making it big, the star was a writer who has written for Okmalumkoolkat. According to the Juice, the singer has recorded a song with Chris Martin which will be performed at the Global Citizen concert in Johanessburg.

The rapper then went on to recount the time the international superstar reached out to her and how she had to keep it a secret for several months.




Since the announcement of the concert, Sho Madjozi has been making headlines. Sho Madjozi keeps proving that there is more to the “xibelani” traditional skirt she wears when performing.
