King Monada, Malwedhe

Khutso Steven Kgale, popularly known by his stage name King Monada is a Tzaneen (Limpopo) born recording artist.

Monada is from Ga-Mokgolobotho Village outside Tzaneen and is one of the few inventive singers the Bolobedu inhabitants will never stop celebrating. In his music, he is singing about relationships and family problems; his music has a deeply ingrained sense of appropriateness. His tunes are listened and danced by children parents and grand-parents because most of it portrays the reality of life.

Inspired by the late Peter Tenet, this Tzaneen born singer who first rose to fame through his three big smash hits “Khontoga”, “Adi Nyake Wena” and “Ska Bora Moreki” is fast becoming South Africa’s much talked and loved singer.

“Ska Borha Moreki” became a national anthem in South Africa because it reflects the lifestyle we find within South African tarvens & shebeens. In fact, he is the most talked about artist when it comes to the beautiful sounds of Tzaneen. His music is the talk of the town both locally and on the social media platforms.

King Monada’s latest single titled “Malwedhe” has captured the Nation and is running for the SABC Summer Song of the Year Awards. “Malwedhe” will be competing against another big song by Vusi Nova titled “As’phelelanga” judging by the public’s responses. His blockbuster song “Malwedhe” has received a major boost from the organiser of the SABC Summer Song of the Year Award, Owen Ndlovu. He has rooted for King Monada’s stellar cut to win this year’s competition.

The song, which has taken the South African Music Industry by storm and broke the internet, is definitely leading the competition as there appears to be no tune that matches its popularity and appeal.
