Kowkie the vocalist is living her dream through music

Loaded with the vocal capabilities, sumptuous looks and captivating moves, Kowkie is reallytransforming into a new jewel of South African music industry.

Born Lotanang Koketso Madileng in Mankweng, but grew up in Marble Hall at a small location called Leeuwfontein – Limpopo Province (SA). Kowkie was like any other teenage girls of her age growing up in her home town Polokwane, she attended her first school at Dikolobe Primary school for 2 years and later went to finish primary education at Groblerdal Primary School. Attended high school at Florapark Comprehensive High school and obtained her matric certificate in 2013. She has graduated with a Degree in Business Management at the University of Limpopo (Turfloop).




She grew up loving music and singing at church choirs from Sunday school, she loved to sing for fun while outside playing with girls of her age. She started to develop more interest in getting her music recorded because her passion was driving her to work very hard each day while penning down her new material. She never thought she would make a living out of music until late 2014 when she recorded her first ever single titled “Love Affair”. That’s when she knew that her heart belongs to house music even though she’s a versatile musician, judging from her knowledge of sound, you’ll understand that her heart belongs to House Music. In her music career, she has worked with the likes of Unique Attitude, Villager, MrBlax, Realkuesoul, Extreme Wa Zb, Deejay 2mi, Afrika Capriccio, k’zela & Stylish Dj, Duo Kari, Decker, LKD, HyperSoul X, Fonnikdeep and Dj Gibbz among others.

Kowkie is currently in studio working on new material for her album which will be available around2018, she is has roped in good producers from Limpopo who understand her sound very well. Limpopo has been trying to be a leading participant in the house music scene, so expect more fireworks on the project. She has just dropped an EP under Deep Afrika called Clueless . The hit single on the EP is “Monifere” which features Decker and LKD, produced by Duo Kari.

This talented young Singer/Songwriter is inspired by the likes of Monique Bingham, Portia Monique, Lady Zamar, Lady X, Mpumi, Bucie, Candy Tsa Mandebele, Shekinah, Chomee and Kelly Khumalo among others.She also serves as a Director of Lotanang General Enterprises.
