Nyeleti Mabunda’s interview at Power FM about ‘Akani Rixaka’ project

South Africa, we are in a week where we are mourning the passing of ANC Stalwart and struggle veteran – Mama Nomzamo Winnie Madikizela-Mandela (May her soul Rest In Peace). She lived like a candle in the wind, yet she continued to provide light for the current and future generations of South Africa.

Nyelety Mabunda (Netty) draws her inspiration from Mama Nomzamo Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s words: “I shall never lose hope and my people shall never lose hope.” Today, she is giving back hope to the impoverished communities through her organization – Akani Rixaka.

Akani Rixaka – meaning “build the Nation”, is a project spearheaded by the 23 years old Nyeleti Mabunda. This organization helps to equip children with study skills through various programmes, they have established this project in response to the desperate need for reading material in many impoverished communities in South Africa. This project aims to help with the mental and psychological development of kids.

Together we can make the world a better place for all. Very few people think they are perfect in every way. But it can still be hard to be humble, especially when you live in a society that encourages competition and individuality. But, even in such culture, humility is an important virtue.

On the 10th April, the organization’s chairperson – Nyeleti Mabunda, during an interview at Power FM with Kwena Moabela said: “I believe that if each person can do a little, then together we can make a big difference. It’s about that time we change and build a world of leaders and readers.”
