MiCasa is a house band based in Johannesburg (South Africa) and it consist of three members, Dr. Duda (Producer), J’Something (Vocalist & Guitarist) and Mo-T (Trumpeter).
They have just signed over their musical interests to Sony and ATV Music Publishing. This is in a bid to take their hugely successful act to a global audience. The new deal will expose the trio’s music to a wider array of listeners by exposing them to Sony’s experienced writers, and making their craft more accessible in a digital age.
MiCasa was formed in 2011 when all three members were at a night lounge and decided to perform together. A few months later, they released an album titled MiCasa Music, which went gold quickly and won several awards at the 18th Annual MTN South African Music Awards (SAMAs) in 2012. In 2015 they returned with their double disc album Home Sweet Home which includes hit singles Chocolate & Barman featuring Big Nuz and Dj Tira. In August 2017 they released their fourth studio album Familia after nearly disbanding four months earlier.
The band went on to open for a number of major international acts, including The Layabouts, Real People, Tortured Soul, and Drake. They have worked with international Dj’s including Charles Webster and Atjazz. Some of their hit songs include Heavenly Sent, La Vida, Jika, Chocolate, Barman and Fly away among others.
