South African House music pioneers, Mthokozisi Khathi better known as DJ Tira and Nkosinathi Maphumulo (Black Coffee) are joining forces to put on one spectacular show this festive season.
#FactDurbanRocks is an annual party that takes place on the 31st of December every year at Moses Mabhida Stadium. This event brings more excitement at the Coastal region, with #FillUpMosesMabhida also heading to the Durban shores with rapper Cassper Nyovest.
Dj Tira has taken things one step further and given Black Coffee an entire floor to himself. The floor is called Africa is not a Jungle and Black Coffee has free reign to do with it as he pleases and judging by his international acclaim, it is going to be a show worth seeing.
“We’re telling a different story, bringing South African music on the highest definition and I feel it deserves its own floor. [I’m] not playing a 30/40-minute set, we’re playing longer sets [and] bringing the DJ culture back,” Black Coffee told fans.
The line-up for Africa is not a Jungle is yet to be released but Dj Tira and Black Coffee did say that the music will be world class. Fact Durban Rocks takes place on 31 December at the 85 000-capacity Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban and tickets are available at Computicket.
